A Grand Journey Through Dublin’s Georgian and Gritty Past. Embark on a captivating walking tour through Dublin’s storied streets, where the elegance of the 1700s meets the raw realities of history. We begin on Henrietta Street, Dublin’s first Georgian street, where opulent mansions once showcased the city’s wealth as the second city of the British Empire. Marvel at the grandeur of these 18th-century homes, then uncover their dramatic decline after the 1801 closure of Dublin’s parliament. Once housing single wealthy families, these grand buildings later crammed entire families into single rooms. Who stepped in to ease the hardship—or profit from it?

You’ll hear tales of struggle and opportunism that shaped the city’s social fabric. Next, we’ll visit a convent, a former home of a developer, where communal living thrived in a time when convents, abbeys, and laundries were Dublin’s shared spaces. At the Green Street Courthouse, dive into its gripping history of swift, brutal trials in an era before CCTV or forensics, where justice often meant transportation—or worse. Then, step into the stunning Dublin Fruit and Vegetable Market, built in 1892 to shelter sellers from the cold.

This architectural gem bustled with tenement women earning a living, their stories echoing through its vast halls. There are a few more delights to be seem before we cross the River Liffey. On the southside we will encounter a street that has been turned around. Then we will enter the confines of the walled City of Dublin, the walls went up in 1240. Then we’ll wander down Fishamble Street, the medieval birthplace of the legendary Molly Malone. The past lies beneath our feet one layer at a time, when we go deeper to the heart of Viking Dublin, we see ancient writings etched into the ground whisper secrets of the past.

Our tour may end at a historic spying pub, a covert hub during the War of Independence where Michael Collins gathered intelligence to orchestrate Bloody Sunday. Learn how sharp minds and secret plans turned the tide of history. With plenty of chances to ask questions and share your thoughts, this tour is a vibrant blend of grandeur, grit, and intrigue. Join us to uncover Dublin’s rich tapestry, from Georgian splendor to revolutionary cunning!
